Chenille Big Bag

I used the ruby print chenille like my 1st purse but added some straw colored arcylic double stranded to the top and wood handles. This bag is big enough to hold my laptop or four skeins of yarn or many other things. It's in that size range that some women could cary it as a large purse, and others would use it as a small tote. It would make a good crafting project bag because it doesn't have a zipper or velcro closure to catch on yarn and other delicate materials. This like my purse is one of my own designs. It took a few evenings to make but had I been focused and not distracted with other projects, and had clear direction when I started it would have taken much less time. I really love bulky yarn for projects like this because it produces almsot instaneous success! Posted by Hello

Finished Felted Tote

here's the bag finished! I'm really pleased it's about 8"x10"x2.5" after felting. It's very dense and solid. I definitely think I'll be making some more felted bags. I need to get a snap or button for the pocket closure. This bag would be great for many things because the fabric is so dense after felting that it would hold little things like keys and coin. Maybe this will inspire a matching purse or little "goodie" bag.

My first Knitting Machine Project!

Bond Felted Tote! I used Patons Merino Wool and am felting as I type I can't wait to see how this bag turns out. Like a dork I didn't measure it before felting but I'll post measurements after it's done. I started last night with the body of the tote and around 4/5 of the way through the deep red base my knitting machine fell off my craft table and the bag fell off the machine. Needless to say I had a bunch of yarn everywhere and loops and I had to take out most of the base and re do it. I started back at the boys naptime and fixed last night's mess up. . . After Rocky got home I could really focus on finishing the bag. He graciously watched the boys while I knitted away. After getting the hang of it machine knitting goes pretty quickly. But there is definitely a learning curve and for instant gratification people like myself, it can be quite discouraging! I persevered though and man am I glad! What a great reward! Posted by Hello

My Sister

My sister, Janet has really taken her passion for knitting and crocheting a step farther than me with experimentation with various yarns. She has introduced me to cotton chenille and organic cotton yarns as well as some really soft merinos and soft baby alpaca! I got some cotton chenille from her yesterday and I cannot wait to see how it turns out in a project. . . I also cannot decide what to make of it. . . I guess I'll be searching for something. . . something special!
Oh and she found a crafter's fair that we can register for and sell some wares at so I'm going to be making some things to market and showcase there

Happy Valentines Day!

I really wanted to make something special for Rocky but he's not super fond of crochet stuff. So I decided to make something for me that he can benefit from too! I designed this bikini set this evening and crocheted it from Lion Suede. Posted by Hello

Charmie's bigger cargo pants

I just finished Charmie's pants and the usual photo session. These are becoming harder and harder with an active 20 month old. It was virtually impossible to get him to stand still to model his pans so I just started snapping photos of him dancing around with my crochet hook. I eventually gave up trying to get a still shot so here are his pants on the right and Mardie's on the left.
He really likes his pants. These are just like Mardie's just bigger! Well not exactly like Mardie's as you can see. The camo yarn made stripes on the legs of Charmie's pants because the repeat of the pattern lined up with the number of stitches that I had but other than that they are the same pants. Now to find some black shirts.

Mardie's cargo pants

I found this yarn and couldn't resist! Mardie's camouflage pants are done. . . I now have to start on Charmie's! These short pants crocheted up really fast. I made them to fit baggy. They actually fit Charmie too but like biker shorts, LOL. They have a little cargo pocket with flap on each thigh. I started them last night and finished them tonight before the Lost started. Mardie likes them, Charmie does too. I can't wait to finish Charmie's and take them out in them. I designed the pants myself, including the butt gusset. This way they fit better over diapers, especially cloth diapers.
I'll have to make some from this pattern in wool as soaker shorts. Posted by Hello

The sock is coming. I am in the instep fully. I've finished the gussets from the heel shaping. Posted by Hello

Seedy Washie

I got some cotton hemp blend yarn and knitted in seed stitch a face washie. I really like it and will make some more as I have time. I think I'll possibly experiment with other stitches though on these little sampler projects.Posted by Hello

A Very sicko three headed monster

Well my boys, including Rocky my dh, and myself have all been sick with this viral cold/cough/respiratory thing. It's been really getting me down, in fact for me it's turned into a full fledged sinus infection! I'm on antibiotics now though so I should be on the mend. I haven't been able to devote as much time to knitting as I would like to though in light of this. It's been getting my boys down too, they have been so clingy I've been carrying them around in my various slings and pack carriers just to keep the wailing to a minimum. I am beginning to feel like a three headed monster and this definitely is not conducive to knitting. Posted by Hello
